Chris has been an integral part of the firm for over 34 years and is particularly known for his extensive private client knowledge. Chris acts for individual and corporate clients and his expertise is often called upon for the more complex issues surrounding Commercial Conveyancing.
Carrie-Ann joined Stuart & Stuart in 2000 after graduating with a BA Law degree and Diploma in Conveyancing and Executry Law from the University of Abertay. Having worked with the firm since this time gaining wide ranging experience of the business she was appointed to the role of Director of Operations in March 2017. Now responsible for delivering the Partners’ strategic vision of how the business will grow and flourish over the coming years.

Gordon has a long standing association with Stuart & Stuart stretching further back than when he joined the firm in 1984. As a descendant of one of the original founding partners in 1804 Gordon is committed to ensuring that the firm maintains its reputation for maintaining the highest possible standards and traditions. Gordon is widely acclaimed in Edinburgh as a specialist in his field of residential conveyancing.

Jane joined the firm at the beginning of 2014 having gained some 30 years’ experience in a range of litigation. Since 2002 she has specialised in Adults with Incapacity, an area of law that is becoming more needed as our population ages. Based in our Bonnyrigg Office Jane often travels to a clients home or place of residence in order to give advice.

Andrew is a full member of The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners and specialises in private client work with a particular focus on asset protection. Based in the Bonnyrigg office, with regular visits to the firm’s branch offices to advise clients.

Carly joined Stuart & Stuart in 2012 after completing the graduate entry Law Degree and Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh. She then undertook her legal traineeship with a large private client Firm where she spent 18 months working in Land and Property and 6 months in their Tax and Trust department. Based in the Penicuik she works mainly in the areas of residential conveyancing and private client work

Moira joined the firm in 2015 after having gained 8 years’ experience working in two large Edinburgh firms.
Moira is a full member of STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and she is also a tutor on the Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh. Moira specialises in Executry administration, Wills and Powers of Attorney and is based in the Edinburgh office.

Joining Stuart and Stuart in 2014, Ken has a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of residential and commercial conveyancing transactions. Ken has a particular interest in the East Lothian Property Market in which he has advised many of his clients in the successful sale and purchase of their properties along with the subsequent preparation of their Wills and Powers of Attorney. Ken believes in providing his clients with a first class, professional service which has led to him acting for and retaining a loyal client base over the years.

Catriona specialises in estate planning and all aspects of asset protection. She provides advice on inheritance tax mitigation, including the making of tax efficient Wills, as well as succession planning to suit every type of family dynamic. Catriona is experienced in administering complex and contentious estates and works closely with clients to achieve solutions to post-death tax planning issues. She also advises on Trusts and Powers of Attorney to give clients peace of mind for whatever lies ahead.
Catriona joined the firm in January 2017, having gained several years’ experience as a solicitor in two large Edinburgh firms, as well as undertaking an in-house role for a large hospital charity. She is also a full member of STEP (The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners), having gained the Diploma in Trusts and Estates with Distinction. Catriona previously held the office of Judicial Assistant to the Lord Justice Clerk during 2003 to 2006 and is a Notary Public.

Hannah joined Stuart & Stuart in August 2015. She completed the LL.B. Honours degree and Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh and then undertook her legal traineeship with a large firm in Edinburgh where she gained 9 months’ experience in the field of private client. Hannah is based in the Edinburgh office and specialises in private client work, particularly Executries, Wills and Powers of Attorney.
Gordon originally joined Stuart & Stuart in 1982 and apart from a short period during 1986 he has been employed by the firm since that date. A qualified member of SOLAS (The Society of Law Accountants in Scotland) he has looked after the tax affairs of individual clients and Trusts for over 25 years, and is involved in the preparation of annual Trust and personal accounts (including guardianships) and final accounting for the administration of executries.
