Gordon is a descendant of the original founder of the firm Joseph Gordon WS in 1804.
He is a “Stuart” through his paternal grandmother. He succeeded his father who died in 1990 whilst Senior Partner. He has recently completed 30 years in the firm and has now retired from residential conveyancing work.
Gordon now works as a Consultant to the firm as a Notary Public and is in demand on a daily basis to have documents notarised and legalised for other countries through the FCO apostille process under the Hague Convention.
In his spare time he is a keen hill runner and in 2018 completed the SHR Championship finishing 8th in his age group. This means he is often travelling up north at the weekend to compete. As he gets older he prefers the shorter (say 2 hour) races but he has completed the Edinburgh 7 Hills Race over 20 times. He prefers to run off road which has saved his knees and allowed him to keep going without injury.
