Having completed his traineeship with Simpson & Marwick in Edinburgh, Fergus developed an interest in Court work.
As a young solicitor he worked in a busy and varied court practice in Kirkcaldy for two years. Having worked in similar firms in Edinburgh and Falkirk, Fergus has developed his experience in civil court work, and family law in particular. Being part of a large family himself, and with his own children to look after, he is able to empathise with his clients, and to make them feel at ease, despite them being in stressful situations. He will encourage clients to reach a quick settlement of their disputes where possible, but will also pursue litigation vigorously where the circumstances require it.
Fergus has considerable experience of appearing before Sheriffs, and presents his clients’ arguments in a clear, concise and persuasive manner.
Fergus is engaging, and very popular with his clients.
Away from the office, and apart from a busy family life, Fergus enjoys hill-walking and exploring Scotland’s varied countryside, golfing, and occasional skiing. Fergus sings in a choir, and has had a highlight of appearing in a musical show in Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival.
